03 · The write-up
What it is like to arrive here.
Free parking with no limit on how long you stay, which is unusual, on a small communal aire with a paid service point.
The Office de Tourisme Couesnon Marches de Bretagne describes this as l’aire d’accueil communale de Tremblay, the commune’s own reception area, and states that parking is free and available sans limitation de duree, without a time limit.
What it costs
Nothing to park. The borne, the service pillar, is coin operated and charges 2 euros for water and 2 euros for electricity, with the wastewater dump free. The 2 euro electricity charge and the free grey water drain show up in both listings for this site. Bring coins, because the night costs nothing and the borne does not.
What is actually here
Water and an electric hook-up on the paid borne, and a waste dump point that handles grey water and chemical toilet waste, with the grey water side free. There are 6 spaces.
Toilets and showers are not listed either way, so plan on the village center, which is a short walk away.
Six spaces and no time limit is a combination that can work against you. A site where people are allowed to settle in is a site that can be full when you arrive, so have an alternative in mind.
Where it sits
Tremblay is a small village in the far north of Ille-et-Vilaine, in the Marches de Bretagne, the old frontier country between Brittany and Normandy along the Couesnon. Bazouges-la-Perouse, which has its own free communal aire, is close by to the west, so this corner of the map gives you two official options within a short drive of each other.
The tourist office notes the aire is within walking distance of the village center and its shops and restaurants, which is the practical argument for stopping here. The bay of Mont-Saint-Michel is roughly half an hour north, and since parking a motorhome near the Mont is both expensive and tightly managed, a free stopover at this distance is worth knowing about.
This is quiet inland countryside. Do not expect a view.
The rule that applies
France leaves overnight motorhome parking to the commune. See our France bivouac and overnight parking rules and what an aire actually is. The mairie of Tremblay sets the local rules, and the posted sign at the entrance beats this page.
Before you rely on this
Check the tourist office listing linked below, particularly the tariff and the absence of a maximum stay. An unlimited free stay is the term communes revisit most often, and coin-operated bornes get repriced or converted to card without any announcement a traveler would see.
